Where does the data come from?
Keyword Discovery collects search term data from over 200 search engines world wide. As a result we have the largest keyword database that contains nearly 38 billion searches. Keyword Discovery also offers many language specific keyword databases sourced from regional search engines and users from those regions, including: Australian, Canadian, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, UK and US with plans to offer many others.
What is the difference between Global Premium and Historical Global?
The Global Premium database contains keyword searches derived entirely from user panel data. The panel data is is less prone to skew caused by automated agents. Skew is a major problem that traditionally affects all keyword suggestion services. Typically search statistics reported on popular queries are impacted by various automated agents such as search engine crawlers, rank checkers and bid checkers. These inflate the true search figures, making it difficult to accurately estimate actual search volume.
The Historical Global database contains keywords searches from over 200 different sources. Some queries may be affected by skew. The historical database shows data and search figures from June 2005 to present.
